Würzburg is a small city in the federal state of Bavaria and is situated on the Main river. It has a number of notable historic buildings mainly churches, the first being the Würzburg Residence, a palace built by the architect Balthazar Neumann in the eighteenth century and today a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
